About Us
Promoting and protecting the health and safety of Riverside County residents through preparedness, response, and recovery.
Who We Are
The Riverside County Public Health Emergency Preparedness and Response (PHEPR) program, part of the Riverside University Health System – Public Health, is dedicated to safeguarding our community against public health emergencies and disasters. Our team of professionals works tirelessly to prepare for, respond to, and recover from a wide range of threats, including natural disasters, biological and chemical incidents, pandemics, and acts of terrorism.
Our Mission
We strive to enhance the resilience of Riverside County by providing accurate, timely information and coordinated responses to emergencies. Our mission is to promote and protect the health of all residents and visitors, ensuring a safe and healthy community through proactive planning, training, and collaboration.
What We Do
Our program focuses on the medical and health aspects of disaster preparedness and response. Key activities include:
- Developing and implementing emergency preparedness plans to address various disaster scenarios.
- Coordinating with local, state, and federal agencies to ensure a unified response during crises.
- Organizing and training volunteers with medical, health, or emergency preparedness backgrounds to assist during public health emergencies.
- Providing public education and resources to help residents and businesses prepare for emergencies such as earthquakes, wildfires, floods, and pandemics.
- Managing and distributing critical health information during disasters to keep the community informed and safe.
Our Commitment
At PHEPR, we are committed to building a resilient community by fostering partnerships with local organizations, volunteers, and residents. We believe that preparedness starts with collaboration and education. By working together, we can ensure that Riverside County is ready to face any challenge and recover stronger.
